Best for (our reading)Unhurried weekends of treatments, old architecture and drives through the southern Indiana hills
- Resort fee (ask)
- Request the full list of nightly add-ons, including parking
- Airport transfer
- Louisville (SDF) or Indianapolis (IND); a car is close to essential
- Age at the desk
- Ask which age the person named on the reservation must be
Field notes
Both buildings come from the decades when mineral springs pulled city travellers into this quiet corner of Orange County. Restoration brought them back, and strolling from one lobby to the other belongs to the visit as much as the room does.
Days here drift toward massages, a swim and a long dinner. Hoosier National Forest surrounds the valley, so October colour and empty back roads lie minutes away.
Pre-booking checks
- Trip profile logged: Spa & pool time, Historic buildings, Lakes & forests.
- Money: request the full list of nightly add-ons, including parking. Deposits are often held separately.
- Arrival: fly into Louisville (SDF) or Indianapolis (IND); a car is close to essential. Never assume a shuttle exists until the hotel says so.
- Age: ask which age the person named on the reservation must be. Pools, spa and venues may each set their own limit.
